Whilst at the same time where anti-bird deterrents are present on red-flagged buildings (where the owners don’t welcome or invite Kittiwakes to visit and nest) such as the » Guildhall, » Ferry Mews, » Bessie Surtees and Vermont Apart Hotel, that have been proven to be dangerous to birds; Kittiwakes upon the Tyne will raiSE their VOICE and CAMPAIGN for these anti-bird deterrents to be removed.

Are the owners of these buildings checking on the anti-bird deterrents they have installed?”

Most of the anti-bird deterrents that are raising concerns are present on buildings where Kittiwakes have been repetitively injured or killed in the last 4-5 years.  We are noting no pro-active efforts to remove these anti-bird deterrents; with instead the risk of more being added. Action is needed from the owners of these buildings, but none is happening. Changes are needed to prevent further unnecessary suffering and losses.
